The last two weeks have been super busy. We spent the week before last (16th-23rd) in Vienna doing street evangelism with YWAM Vienna. We were going out everyday during the Eurocup, which was taking place during this time and the entire reason we were there, talking and praying with people while others preformed dramas and played songs. There were many great testimonies that people shared, one that was particularly amazing involved two drug addicts. I will try to give to enough information about the story that you dont become overwhelmed. So, we had a tent set up to invite people to sit under to get out of the heat while walking around and inside there was a stage where we preformed dramas and had bands play. We also had a TV in there so people coming by at night could stop and watch the game. One night we were watching the game and and a young couple, semi drunk or doped up, came into the tent and set down to watch the game. One of of ladies in the group felt impressed to talk the young woman who had just walked in but wasn't sure how to start the conversation. So, she decided to at least move over next to her. As she was praying about how to start the conversation the young woman turned to her and said "How are you?" and thta began a hour and a half long conversation about salvation and Jesus. Long story short she gave her life to Christ, but after they were done the young lady said that her boyfriend needed saving too and that he needed to get off drugs as well. So after more conversation and discussing they both gave there lives to Christ and prayed against using drugs.
Its a great testimony with a sad ending though. There is no follow-up for that couple or any of the other people we talked with and pray for. Thats why I need you. I need ya'll to pray for this couple and all those that were reached out to during the Eurocup. Pray that they get connected into a good church home or God leads someone into there lives who does.
This last week has been just as much of a challenge. We had a time of team building this week which was just us working together to accomplish both high and low ropes course obstacles. It was good and bad for me, I found out that we need to communicate slower and be more patient with one anther because not all of the Germans on our team speak English fluently and none of the English speakers speak German. Plus, I found that not everyone on my team trusts me as much as I would like. I believe though that with time comes trust. It was slightly stressful because during the night while we were sleeping there they woke us up at like 4:30 in the morning to take us on a hike. This left me and the rest of my team a little sleep deprived for the following day.
So, I ask that you continue to pray for my team and myself that those on my team would learn to trust me and one another and that we as a team would become better communicators with one another. You can also pray for patience and understanding because as a team we come from 3 different cultures.
